False Prophet?
Well, nothing written lately so I will make some enemies. Besides I am broke and bored (GRIN).
From nothing else but reading the New Testament and thinking about what I read, I came to two conclusions. Now I am not talking about taking one little item out of context, nor interpolating something in a peculiar way. I am talking about thinking about the gist of the whole volume.
First Jesus clearly was talking about God’s hosts taking over the world in his lifetime, or shortly after his sacrifice. Since that did not happen it is clear that he was a false prophet, so why do millions of people warship him today?
The second trend that stood out to me is that Paul obviously took over and made the religion into the church he wanted it to be. There does not seem to me to be a lot of correlation between the Church of Paul and the Teachings of Jesus.
A third thing, from history rather than the New Testament, is that Roman Emperor Constantine made the rather obsure Christian Religion into the State Religion of the Roman Empire using it to reunify the Empire which is why it is what it is today.
On the other hand, faith, and it does not seem to matter what the faith is about, seems to help most people cope with the travails of life. So far be it from me to tell people not to believe what they want to believe.
Thoughtful comments about any side of this will make it through moderation, angry diatribes will not.
